Uploading PDF files to network location different from the Canvas server

Hi

Our client would like to upload PDF files via Canvas as part of their workflow. However, the users do not have access to any of the folders within the server where Canvas is installed. My questions are as follow:

  1. Can users upload files to directory where they do not have access via Canvas? If they can, would they be able to retrieve it afterwards?
  2. If not, can we direct the Canvas Upload directive to upload the files to another network location where they do have access?

Hi Ben,

The client doesn’t need access to the Canvas folders, the upload directive will save the file and provide a download link you can store somewhere, i.e. in a cube.

But will they be able to download the file if they don’t have access to the folder?

Yes, Canvas handles that.
