If I intend to use the Time Slider what do I need to know?

  • It does not work on any time dimension. I need to have a continuous time dimension called T Year-Month with defined naming for month elements, quarters, halves, years.

  • T Year-Month dimension needs to have defined naming for month elements, quarters, halves, years. I cannot customize the levels.

  • I can have multiple rollups (or hierarchies) in the dimension but one of them must be exactly the same as the defined rollup in the original T Year-Month dimension

  • It works well on Views but not so much on Dashboards

Can someone please confirm or correct these findings?

What are the other limitations I should be aware of?

Correct on all counts.

There has been long discussion on improving the time slider so it can work on any time dimension without a dependency on T Year-Month but there has never been a direct customer requirement to drive the priority.

You can raise a ER if you need a more universal time slider.

Does the time slider work in wizards? Can’t get it to work, the slider is not shown.
