Release: Arc and Slice v4.6.0

Hi all,

A new version of Arc & Slice is now available to download:

What’s new in Arc and Slice

Arc Assistant is now powered by WatsonX or any OpenAI compatible service

  • #2826 - Arc Assistant is now powered by Watson X or any OpenAI compatible service. This new feature allows you to use any OpenAI compatible service to power the Arc Assistant. This feature is great to use the Arc Assistant with your own AI service or with any other OpenAI compatible service.

  • #2883: Arc Assistant is now available in Rules Editor and the Process Editor.

The Arc Assistant is not enabled by default. To enable it you need to enter an API key in the settings. If your company does not allow you to use the Arc Assistant, you can disable it in the settings, more information in the Arc Assistant documentation.

Collaborate with your team inside Arc

  • #1889 - Arc now supports instance-wide broadcasts and dev-to-dev chat. This feature is great to collaborate with your team inside Arc. You can send messages to all users connected to the same TM1 instance or to a specific user. Only users who knows the messengerpassword value from the settings.yml file can send messages to all users connected to the same TM1 instance.

Delete feeders files

It is now possible to delete all persistent feeder files from the Cube Summary view. This feature is useful when you want to delete all feeders files for a TM1 instance.

  • #2715: Arc - Cube Summary - ability to delete all persistent feeder files

To expand on the setup notes for the Arc Messenger feature.

  1. To get the Arc Messenger connected after installing 4.6.0, you MUST set the messengerpassword parameter in the settings.yml file. This password ensures only valid clients can connect to the messenger system.

  2. Subsequently, all Arc clients must set the Server Password to the agreed password in their User Preferences:

While you’re in there, set your Display Name to something cool, like "l33ttm1c0nsult4nt2002"

  3. Note also that the messenger is per-tm1 instance. That means only users logged in to a tm1 instance will become available in the recipients list for that instance.

  4. The “broadcast” feature (send to all logged in users) requires admin permissions on the tm1 server. If the broadcast checkbox is disabled, check your tm1 security settings.
