Pulse Explorer Object Usage Tracking Action Types

Hi,

I have 2 questions on Object Usage Tracking feature of Pulse Explorer:

  1. What is the list of Action Types that will be recorded?
  2. How is “update” action type defined? As I saw from the change log v6.2.0.md · Wiki · Cubewise CODE / Pulse · GitLab, there should be at least “open” and “update” types:

but I tried update a TI and delete a TI, and only get “open” action type:

For you information, my Pulse version is 6.2.1.

Thanks!

Thanks Li, this is an interesting question.

Starting with Arc v4.0 (if Arc is connected to Pulse), Arc will send to Pulse what the users are doing inside Arc. When someone open a process, you will see a new entry in the Pulse Explorer with the Action Type: Open as you see in your screenshot. The ActionType Update is currently only used when someone is editing a cell.

I hope this helps,

Cheers,

Vincent

Hi Vincent,

  1. So you mean there are only 2 action types available, “open” and “update”, right? For example, no “delete” action type?
  2. I tried modify and save the process many times but every time only get “open”, never get “update”. May I know the possible reason of this issue?

Thanks!
Letty

Thanks Li for pointing that out (I edited my first reply ;)).

Actually, the ActionType update is only used when a user is updating a cell.

Could you please create an enhancement request to ask Arc to send the information to Pulse each time a user is editing a process?

Cheers,

Vincent

Thanks Vincent.

I just found that there is already a similar enhancement request so I directly commented on it #1999
