When Pulse logs the cancel requests in the reports section does it only report cancellation requests made through Pulse?

Yes.
Same goes for service (i.e. stop & start the instance) and disconnect requests.

What if I cancel a thread through the REST API:
/api/v1/Threads(‘8992’)/tm1.CancelOperation

Would Pulse report this too?
