Load from Excel Widget

It would be really beneficial to have the “Load from Excel” widget configured in a more automated fashion via the advanced settings GUI rather than having it created by adding a new widget and configure it.
In most cases I believe we use the default settings so the widget could automatically capture the cube and dimensions on row/column and set it up directly upon toggling on the Excel load widget option.

This could even be the default for View type.

Obviously any change to the cube settings should reflect to the Excel load widget.

Anyone feels the same way?

I’m not sure I understand the question / request.

Say you create a new simple planning view. The user asked for an Excel Upload and preferably should be there for all the planning views.

Why not automatically generate the widget? or Why not generate it by simple toggle on the option from the advanced GUI?

This is pretty specific. I can’t see it happening TBH. Use of Excel uploader isn’t that common and having a standard feature to have an automatic Excel upload popup for a grid widget or toggle between grid widget and Excel upload doesn’t really make sense as if we offered this then it would limit flexibility like should the uploader be a widget level or dashboard popup? Should it have the same row/column/filter layout as the widget to which it belongs?

Although there might be some applications where you do have lots of Excel uploaders, such applications and use cases are very uncommon.
