Files functionality - unable to use subdirectories

Using the Files functionality in the Administration section, I find that the directory is fixed at the Data directory and no subdirectories can be accessed. Is this something that can be changed? Is there any possibility of relative location (.\ or …)? Many clients don’t want files filling up the Data directory on their cloud instances.

Using relative position may pose a security risk, but can you please create an enhancement request at the link below?

I don’t believe this is possible, blobs can only be created in the root data directory as far as I know.
