This is a query from one of the clients. I believe we can’t do this, but I would like to know if otherwise.
Are there default settings I can set up to be applied to all end users the first time they log on? E.g. add the Arc URL in the settings, hide certain toolbars, apply a certain style/theme, display control objects etc.
Is there a way to prevent end users from changing certain settings?
Arc doesn’t have an option to set settings globally. The settings are set individually and stored in the user browser. You may though export and import settings to send them to other users.
Having the settings globally defined would be a big benefit! If the ArcUserPreferences.json is co-located with settings.yml then apply those settings for everyone, if ArcUserPreferences file isn’t there then follow the current logic and leave up to the individual to import/export.
If I have multiple developers then for sure I want some settings like number of spaces for tab indent and variable naming to be consistent for everyone!!
