How do I add a CAM user without Architect in Arc?
We are upgrading to PA 2.1 now.

Hi @jliando1,

That is not yet supported in Arc and may depend on whether IBM publicly supports it or not.

It could be something we can look at, so in the meanwhile, can you help create an enhancement request here?

There is a TI that can help you: }APQ.Security.Client.Create.CAMFromAD

I never used this TI personally, but this is the description of the TI:

  • Create CAMID elements in }Clients dimension based on Active Directory search with Windows Powershell
  • In a large corporate environment you may need to supply a domain to search for a user. If this is the case then pDomain should be in the form domain.ADcontroller e.g. EMEA.BigCorp.com
  • For smaller corporates you can just supply the name of the AD (mainly for use in creating uniqueID) e.g. Cubewise

For reference, here what IBM recommend to create CA user in PAW without Architect.

TLDR: Create a user with the user CAMID Search path found in Cognos Analytics.

Adding pdf for those who don’t have an IBM account.

The same should apply to ARC.

I haven’t tested it but it should work.
